The Month I Added Lots of Playable Content
● The Month I Added a Lot of Playable Content
If I had to describe June in one sentence, I would say it was the month when I kept adding more and more new content to FUKABORI COLORS.
The new content added in June included “Fuka Build,” a building game, and “DecoSaku,” an image-editing app. I also changed the game section to a category called “Play” so that I could add not only games, but also various kinds of playable digital toys.
June was also the month when I launched my YouTube channel and started posting videos to help more people discover FUKABORIES and FUKABORI COLORS.
I also created a new contact page, making another update to make the site more open and accessible to visitors.
I also installed Godot, a game development software. I haven't actually made a game with Godot yet, but I prepared a game development environment so that I can create new games in the future.
As a long-term goal, I would love to release games I create on major game platforms such as Steam.
I have all kinds of ideas for what kind of games I want to make. Game development takes a lot of time, though, so I'd like to release them as soon as possible—but it looks like it's still going to take a little while. (Haha.) 😅
Actually, before releasing Fuka Build, I had been developing a game called “Fuka Stone,” where you stack stones.
I made both 2D and 3D versions, but when I tried to give the 3D version more detailed controls for stacking the stones, the game gradually became less intuitive.
On top of that, a bug occurred where the stones would just slide around on their own.
In the end, I decided not to release it and scrapped the project. (Haha.)
Someday, I'd like to make a game that feels intuitive and stress-free to control.
And even though I scrapped Fuka Stone, I hope I can find a way to make use of the game code I created for it in another project someday.
Fuka Build also had a bug where I couldn't place walls on the upper level of a house, and fixing it took quite a lot of time.
AI has developed tremendously, and we're living in an amazing time. But just because you use AI doesn't mean you can make a game easily.
I think that, at its core, game development is still a continuous process of trial and error.
I'm still a beginner at coding and game development, but I want to keep making FUKABORI COLORS more and more fun by making the most of the power of AI.
